Stacked cake
with Italian buttercream.
Cake sides are replicated from the lace design of the
bride's dress, a special request from the bride.
Working from the fabric swatch and using a small
tip for the Italian buttercream, the design was drawn onto
the sides of the cake. Since the pattern was interwoven,
the outer borders of the design was used as a guideline and
became the top of the design of the cake sides.
Silver dragées are hand applied at the same places
as the silver beads on the design of the fabric swatch.
Made for wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel
by Renee Shelton. Original design specified by
the bride.
