Brown Sugar Doodles
These cookies crack as they are baked, giving it a beautiful appearance.

1 cup butter flavor shortening 2 3/4 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar, packed 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 385°F.

Cream shortening until creamy, then add in both sugars and blend well. Add in the eggs and mix until incorporated. Stir dry ingredients together, and then add to creamed mixture. Gather spoonfuls of dough, form into balls, and place onto baking sheet. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until done. Surface will be cracked and cookies should still be soft, yet slightly browned.
